PARKER, Colo. (AP) -- The Europeans are closing in on their first Solheim Cup victory in America.
Carlota Ciganda of Spain completed a perfect week by handing Morgan Pressel her first singles loss. Charley Hull, the 17-year-old from England, had an easy time with Paula Creamer in the most dominant match Sunday at Colorado Golf Club. She won on the 14th hole.
Europe had 13 points and was ahead in three matches when lightning in the area caused a one-hour delay. Europe needs only 14 points to retain the cup, a half-point more to claim outright victory. The Europeans have never retained the cup since the event began in 1990.
Caroline Hedwall was all square with Michelle Wie with two holes remaining. Hedwall is trying to become the first player to go 5-0.
