All of golf, and particularly the LPGA Tour, which has to work so hard to get in the front door with casual golf fans and corporate sponsors, can’t be turning any away any feature performers.
Methinks sober second thought will soon come into play and the tour will find a way to grant Lexi Thompson membership based on her Navistar victory.
It’s the right thing to do in more ways than one.
In case Thompson still needs to check her calendar, though, the second stage of qualifying is at the end of September in Venice, Florida. The third and final stage is in early December at Daytona Beach.
Speaking of qualifying, Marc-Etienne Bussieres of Gatineau made it through the pre-qualifying stage of fall PGA Tour qualifying. The first stage is at various U.S. sites in mid- and late-October.
